Peter D. Regis

It is a story which ended almost 10 years before.
It ended with the following letter:

Peter D. Regis
400 North A1A 49
Jupiter, Florida USA

February 25, 1998

Dear zzz,

Included herein is a copy of a letter sent to my father by his sister, Justina Vaitkiene. She may not be alive today, but may have had children or relatives. I would greatly appreciate it if you made inquiries in her town to determine if any of these people could provide information or records concerning my father Petras Krizius.

I've also added photos and copies of letters and newspaper clippings relating to my military and professional life.

I think the last E-mail transmission I received from you was just before Xmas.

Sincerely, Peter Regis

The story started with some e-mails to me from Peter D. Regis. At this moment I am not able to trace back these e-mails, but I will try ...

Lyrics
Jim Reeves
Distant Drums
[Cindy Walker, 1966]

I hear the sound of distant drums
Far away, far away
And if they call for me to come
Then I must go and you must stay

So, Mary, marry me, let's not wait
Let's share all the time we can before it's too late
Love me now, for now is all the time there may be
If you love me Mary, Mary, marry me

I hear the sound of bugles blow
Far away, far away
And if they call, then I must go
Across the sea, so wild and grey

So, Mary, marry me, let's not wait
Or the distant drums might change our wedding day
And love me now, for now is all the time there may be
If you love me, Mary, Mary, marry me
